Founded in 1946, the Home Builders Association of Louisville serves and promotes its members of the housing industry in the Greater Louisville area by:

  • Being a leader in the housing industry in promoting the principals and practices of total quality management through continuous improvement.

  • Providing continuous quality improvement training and education for its members and the community.

Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association

The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) is a global trade association of companies that specialize in planning and installing electronic systems for the home. These systems include home networking, home automation and communication systems, media rooms, single or multi-room entertainment systems, and integrated whole-house subsystems providing control of lighting, security and HVAC systems. The association was founded in September 1989 and has a total membership of approximately 2,200 member companies.

CEDIA members are established, insured businesses with bona fide qualifications and experience in this specialized field. Member classifications include designer/installers, manufacturers, sales representatives, distributors, consultants and affiliates.

Kentucky Burglar and Fire Alarm Association


The KBFAA is a Charter State Association of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA). We are a self-governing association that is dedicated to providing a higher level of sales, service, installation, safety and satisfaction for our valued customers.

Code of Ethics

The following Code is intended to aid member firms of the KBFAA in maintaining a high level of ethical conduct. It has evolved out of the experience of members and is binding on all member firms and their staffs.

  1. We will further the public interest by contributing to the development of a better understanding and use of the capacities, abilities, and technical skills of the electronic protection industry by accepting our responsibilities to the communities within which we live and work.
  2. We will present our qualifications to prospective clients solely in terms of our ability, experience and reputation and will strive continuously to improve our knowledge, skills and techniques to make available to our clients the benefits of our professional attainments.
  3. We will always be mindful of the trust placed in us by our subscribers and of our responsibility to render services at the highest level of quality.
  4. We will endeavor to provide opportunity for the professional advancement of our employees by assisting them to acquire additional knowledge and competence in their technical skills.
  5. We will adhere to the Better Business Bureau’s "Code of Advertising," especially as it relates to using the work "free." We will also adhere to the principle that if the alarm, finance, or monitoring company maintain a security interest in the equipment or if monitoring prices are not the same across the board (purchase or free), the system is clearly not free.

Be it resolved, then: that the Kentucky Burglar & Fire Alarm Association Members be guided always by a spirit of justice, honor and fairness in all dealings with subscribers, and other clients and members of their own and associated industries.
